As China’s MIIT just unveiled photos of the XT2301-5, which some belief to be the Motorola Moto X40, things could grow curvier in the following generation.

There are already rumours going that the Motorola Edge 40 Pro and the Moto X40 will both employ the forthcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU. This has to be combined with 8 or 12GB of RAM.

Although the entire list of specifications for the XT2301-5 has not yet been released, reports suggest that the X40 will retain its 50MP primary and 50MP ultra-wide cameras while also adding a 12MP telephoto sensor. And a 60MP front-facing camera will be included (likely with a special model that puts it under the display like the X30 Under Screen Camera Edition). We’ll keep an eye out for any confirmation of these specifications from the Chinese wireless operator.

Details about the Moto X40 (rumoured)

The Moto X40 will, reportedly, have an OLED display with a refresh rate of up to 165Hz. The system’s processor is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. 8GB or 12GB of RAM are anticipated to be included.

A front-facing camera with 60 megapixels will be available in the Moto X40. A 50MP primary camera, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 12MP telephoto camera will all be located on the device’s rear panel.
