Samsung Its First-Ever 6G Forum : Next-Gen Technologies

Samsung Electronics recently announced plans to hold its first-ever Samsung 6G Forum on May 13, 2022. Registration for the forthcoming event is now open online.

The Samsung 6G Forum, themed ‘The Next Hyper-Connected Experience for All,’ will bring together leading global experts from academia and industry in the field of next-generation communications technologies to discuss in depth the future of the technologies that will drive significant changes across the board by 2030.

The discussion will be split into two sections and will be shown live on Samsung’s YouTube page. Each session will begin with a presentation by one of the attending experts, followed by a panel discussion.

Anyone interested in attending the forum is invited to register online at the event website (https://Samsung6gForum.com) between April 13 and May 13. For event schedule adjustments, email alerts will be given, and registered attendees may leave questions on the website prior to each session.

Samsung Research, the company’s sophisticated R&D centre, is in charge of developing future technologies for the DX (Device eXperience) Division.

Schedule for the Samsung 6G Forum

6G Air Interface — Morning Session (09:00am-12:10pm KST)

Sebastian Seung, President and Head of Samsung Research, will provide the opening comments for the morning session. Jeffrey Andrews, Professor at the University of Texas at Austin; Charlie Zhang, Senior Vice President at Samsung Research America; Takehiro Nakamura, Senior Vice President and General Manager of NTT DOCOMO’s 6G Laboratories; and John Smee, Senior Vice President of Engineering at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. will deliver in-depth expert talks on the theme ‘6G Air Interface.’ Following that, a panel discussion moderated by Juho Lee, Fellow at Samsung Research, will take place.

Afternoon Session — 6G Intelligent Network (1:10pm-4:20 PM KST)

The afternoon session, titled ‘Intelligent Network for 6G,’ will feature talks by Tarik Taleb, Professor at the University of Oulu in Finland; SeungJoo Maeng, Master at Networks Business, Samsung Electronics; Byonghyo Shim, Professor at Seoul National University; and Shi Jin, Professor at Southeast University in China. This enthralling lecture will be followed by a panel discussion moderated by Sunghyun Choi, Executive Vice President and Head of Samsung Research’s Advanced Communications Research Center.
