Just at the start of the year, introduced the LinkBuds, a fully wireless headset with a novel doughnut hole-digging that is lightweight to wear but lacks noise reduction.

Sources suggest that Sony is planning to produce new LinkBuds, likely dubbed LinkBuds S, in addition to the previously revealed WH-1000XM5. The LinkBuds S (model number WF-LSN900) appears quite different from the LinkBuds, as can be seen in drawings given by SnoopyTech.

The drawing of the LinkBuds S indicates that the LinkBuds “donut” design has been abandoned in favour of a more traditional in-ear design that looks and feels more like the WF-1000XM4.

Its earphones will be available in gold and black hues, with a conventional appearance and a flat touchpad on the back that is supposed to support different gestures.

The next LinkBuds S is said to have the same sophisticated noise suppression mode as the WF-1000XM4 and will be able to transition between sound modes easily.

Despite the fact that the dug-out design has been abandoned, the LinkBuds S, which lacks physical buttons, should continue to follow the LinkBuds touch experience.
