New website, Samsung announces future foldable OLED panels.

There’s a sharper, cleaner fold this time, and there’s less gap between the folds. The 1.4R curvature of the Samsung Flex OLED delivers a sharper curvature, allowing for more compact and accurate smartphone designs. The staggering construction of the display layers reduces bending stress, allowing for such a narrow curvature. Real glass’ outstanding transparency and toughness, yet flexible.

Even with heavy use 100 times a day, UTG withstands more than five years of constant use. This is equivalent to withstanding over 200,000 folds and consistently performing well, according to tests verified by Bureau Veritas. LG uses a similar OLED display in one of its roll-up TVs. The sliding screen Flex can be used in smartphones with a sliding screen. OPPO presented such a smartphone prototype earlier this year, but it has yet to be launched.
