Honor is no stranger to foldable smartphones, having released the Magic V series last year and now turning over a new chapter with its first clamshell type: the HONOR Magic V Flip. This is one of the better flip foldables with one of its key features being the massive 4-inch LTPO OLED cover display.

The front-facing panel includes 1,092 x 1,200px resolution (405 PPI), 120Hz adaptive refresh rate support, up to 1,600 nit peak brightness, and 2,160 Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. It also makes clever use of its large diagonal by splitting content like apps to 16:9 mode is introduced for improved scaling when the interface is stretched and supports the horizontal split for watching videos with a control panel at the bottom portion.

Magic V Flip is equipped with a 50MP main cam that is equipped with a Sony IMX906 sensor and has a lens size of 1/1. 56” and an aperture of f/1.9, where there is OIS support, and the second camera is 12MP, an ultrawide lens that can also be used as a macro lens. There is also a 50MP selfie-shooting front-facing sensor, which is the IMX816 that has the autofocus feature.

As for the software part, this sphere is controlled by MagicOS 8. It features Android 14 as its operating system, contributing to a battery of 4800mAh for 66W fast charge support.

Depending on its design, Honor Magic V Flip is available in three color options namely Iris Black, Camellia White, and Champagne Pink. There is also a low-risk version that introduces green glitter based on shoes and crystals which are acceptable in the Jimmy Choo brand.

The base price for the smartphone with 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage is CNY 4,999 which converts to $690/€640. The 16GB RAM and 1TB storage variant is another top-the-shelf version that sells at CNY 5,999 ($827/€768). Honor has not provided specific information as to when or if the Magic V Flip is set to be released globally.
