Google hinted last week that the mint Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will launch on January 25 at midnight PT. This afternoon, an extended countdown was added to the Google Store landing page, which ends at six a.m. PT.
There has only been a six-hour delay. Even in the US, midnight drops aren’t the most convenient time because most people sleep by three in the morning on the East Coast. Still, they’re thrilling.
What specific color the Pixel 8 Pro will use is yet unknown. I hope it’s not too bright. This morning, there was even another teaser that may have revealed the precise tint and source of inspiration—ocean weaving.
Is this new hue compatible with the Pixel 8 or is it exclusive to the larger phone is another issue. Hazel is the only color available for the smaller phone, although it’s grey.
Pixel 8: Rose, Obsidian, and Hazel
Pixel 8 Pro: Ceramic, Bay, and Obsidian
Before this, Google released the Pixel 4a during the middle of the cycle with a “Barely Blue” drop; however, it was more of a COVID-related product delay. Regretfully, Google did not have this color available in October. People are already saying that if this green hue had been available the previous year, they would have purchased it.
