Samsung debuted the Galaxy A33 and Galaxy A53 last month. Both phones are low-cost 5G phones with an IP67 rating and extended software support. The Samsung A53 is the most affordable phone featuring a punch-hole selfie camera. A notch at the top of the screen distinguishes the less expensive versions. As a result, this A-series smartphone is just as modern as the brand’s current top models. The pricing is significantly lower, with the Galaxy A53 5G beginning at € 450 (6GB/128GB).
Because the A53 will only be available for a few days, its replacement will not be available for another year. That hasn’t prevented graphic designer Parvez Khan, alias Technizo Idea, from creating a Galaxy A54 concept. Despite the fact that the design is clearly A-series, the smartphone has been improved in various areas.
Display for Samsung Galaxy A54
The A54 is expected to have symmetrical bezels, according to Technizo Concept. In other words, the black screen boundaries on all four sides are the same width. This provides the phone with a more elegant appearance, and the new A-series model follows the high-end Galaxy S22 series‘ trend.
The concept model’s screen borders are substantially smaller than those of the A53. It is therefore not impossible that the A-series devices will not acquire symmetrical bezels for another year. However, it is envisaged that, in the long term, mid-range models would have the same elegant design as current top-of-the-line models.
It’s possible to keep the display size and resolution. That means the Samsung A54 will have a 6.5-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. It’s conceivable, though, that the display will be significantly smaller. This tendency may also be seen in high-end models. The S22 and S22+ are both somewhat smaller than their predecessors.
The fingerprint sensor is obviously hidden under the screen, allowing you to lock the phone merely by laying your finger on the screen. The selfie camera with the punch-hole will almost certainly be present. It’s still unclear whether the same 32MP image sensor and f/2.2 lens will be utilised — it’s been used in the Galaxy A51, A52, and A53 for three years.
The Samsung A54 has four cameras
Not only has the front of the smartphone been updated, but the rear has as well. It’s all about the camera design, of course. Samsung adopted a rectangular camera system for the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A54 5G, with the camera island having the same colour scheme as the casing.
Technizo Concept has combined the Galaxy A54 5G camera system with the Galaxy A54’s top model, the Galaxy S22 Ultra, in its design. The latter employs a so-called water drop camera design, in which the lenses are integrated directly into the rear panel. This style was previously used by Samsung on the far less expensive Galaxy A32.
The camera island on the A54 is still present, although it is much thinner. As a result, the lenses protrude somewhat more. Samsung hasn’t utilised this design previously, but it would work well with its current portfolio. In addition, when compared to the modern A-series cars, it has enough distinction.
The camera’s arrangement is a mystery. To give you an idea, the latest model has a 64-megapixel primary camera with OIS and VDIS. There’s also a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 5MP depth camera, and a 5MP macro camera. The cameras on the A53 are identical to those on the A52, which is a year older. However, this year, additional software was applied to increase image quality for evening and night photos.
Processor with lots of power
The chipset is still a mystery to us. It is, without a doubt, a mid-range smartphone with a mid-range chipset.
The Galaxy A52 and A52s both have Qualcomm processors, whereas the Galaxy A54 5G had an Exynos 1280 SoC. Samsung has released a new 5nm chipset featuring an octa-core CPU. It contains two Cortex A78 cores with a 2.4GHz clock speed and six Cortex A55 cores with a 2.0GHz clock speed.
The Exynos 1280 outperforms the Snapdragon 778G processor present in the A52s by a wide margin. As a result, it’s not out of the question that the A54 will be powered by the Exynos 1280’s replacement. You may use this phone to take advantage of all the benefits that the 5G mobile internet network has to offer thanks to the inbuilt 5G modem.
The Galaxy A54 5G is equipped with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage capacity as standard. You can also get a more powerful model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage capacity for an additional €60. It’s not out of the question that Samsung will release the A54 with the same RAM settings.
software for android
The Galaxy A54 5G, like other Galaxy smartphones, will operate on the Android operating system. By that time, Android 13 will have been released, with the first beta accessible to developers later this month. During the annual Google I/O event in May, Google will give further clarity. Redesigned language settings, additional theme options, a new lock screen, and more privacy features are all part of Android 13.
This year, Samsung changed its update strategy for a vast portion of the A-series phones, not only the high-end versions. Users now have access to four years of Android OS upgrades and five years of security patches.
Support for batteries and memory cards
In terms of the environment, Samsung has opted not to include a charger with the A-series phones this year. The high-end S-series smartphones have been shipped without a charger since last year. The A-series cellphones will no longer come with a charger in the sales box starting this year. This is an optional item that you must purchase.
Samsung, like Apple and Nokia, thinks that the majority of users already own a compatible charger. You can preserve the environment by no longer providing an “unused” charger. The Samsung Galaxy A53 supports 25W Fast Charging. There’s a significant likelihood the A54 will be affected as well. It’s possible that the updated model will also allow wireless charging.
The 5,000 mAh battery capacity is likely to be retained. If Samsung decides to cut the display size slightly – for example, from 6.5″ to 6.4″ – this will certainly improve battery life. By the way, this one is good; the A53 lasts for around 1.5 days on average before needing to be charged.
Finally, another modification made by Samsung this year is the removal of the 3.5mm headphone connector. Of course, you may still use a Bluetooth headset; but, wired earbuds are no longer an option. We don’t think the A54 will include a 3.5mm jack, either.
Hopefully, support for microSD memory cards will continue. Unfortunately, this feature is no longer accessible on high-end S-series machines. The memory card slot will soon be removed from the A-series machines, as well, as is expected. This emphasises the importance of considering the needed memory capacity when purchasing a new phone. However, it’s not out of the question that the A54’s memory will be expanded through a memory card.
