A leak today that reveals their internal names and corresponding wallpapers suggests that Google will keep its Pixel 7a four color selection for the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.
Both phones will be offered in Licorice and Jade, according to Kamila Wojciechowska of Android Authority. Such internal names ought to be interpreted as black and a dim green. The Pixel 8 will also be offered in Peony, which is often a pink flower, and Haze, which is most likely a light blue color that stands in for a white coloring that is conspicuously absent.
The Pixel 8 Pro is rumored to be available in Porcelain and Sky. Porcelain should be a fairly typical white, though it’s practically beige on the Fold, and the latter is most likely blue, albeit presumably a different shade than on the smaller phone.
The leaked default wallpapers give these Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro colors another dimension. The Pixel 8 continues the natural theme by selecting “Minerals,” following the Pixel 6 series’ choice of flowers and the Pixel 7 series’ selection of birds. Most of them support the color predictions we made above, but a few stick out.
Pixel 8 wallpapers
Licorice, the Pixel 8 wallpaper, is an unusual purple color, while Peony is more of a yellow/orange color than a pink one. Each is available in both dark and light themes, which have an impact on the topic and background.
Andrew Zuckerman has once more taken pictures of these items. Google stated last month that it prefers “wallpaper motifs taken from the natural world” over more conventional “futuristic, shiny, glossy imagery” and is searching for “subjects that are relevant but inspiring.”
Ideally, many or even most markets for the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will have all four colors.
