We already observed the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 in covert mode. The new, larger cover display could not be hidden, although the majority of the design was. Now that Z Flip5 dummies have been discovered, we can see what the actual device will look like.
Leakspinner’s article includes a little video that also depicts the phone in black color. More significantly, it demonstrates how the phone appears when closed.
When the phones are folded, the forthcoming foldables are planned to use a droplet-style hinge to shut the space. The gap is still noticeable in the dummy shown in the movie, though.
The revised hinge should at the very least increase dust resistance for an IP58 certification, meaning that even while it isn’t completely sealed (IP6X), any dust that does get in shouldn’t harm the device. Galaxy Z Series from the past were only water resistant (IPX8).
On the outside, not much has changed besides the bigger cover display. A SIM card tray is on the left, a power button/fingerprint reader is on the right, and a USB-C port is at the bottom (the Z Flip5 is rumored to support DeX, though it might only be the wireless option). On July 26, Samsung will announce the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Z Fold5, a new Galaxy Watch6, and the Galaxy Tab S9. Before the pre-orders begin, American customers can sign up for a $50 credit.
