According to recent rumours, the US-based tech giant Apple is preparing to introduce new MacBooks in 2023 that will have M2 Pro and M2 Max chipsets. According to a recent MacRumors story, it appears that a few of those MacBooks were just recently found as entries in Steam’s hardware database.

Data about the hardware and software characteristics of the machines that Steam’s users utilise are frequently published. The operating system versions, specs, and other details are included in this data.

Before to introduction, unreleased Apple Macs were discovered

Near the bottom of Steam’s November 2022 poll, along with model numbers for the Mac Studio, 13-inch M2 MacBook Pro, M2 MacBook Air, and other devices, were two undisclosed Macs, designated “Mac14,6” and “Mac15,4”. On Steam, neither model has any use reported. The tech giant may be testing the unknown laptops with upcoming Apple silicon processors on the Steam gaming platform, though, based on their positioning.

The M2 Pro and M2 Max CPUs, which offer higher levels of speed, performance, and graphics as well as larger memory configurations, are expected to be used in future Macs, according to the source.

Timeline for the upcoming Apple M2 Pro and M2 Max MacBook releases

The new MacBook Pro models were originally scheduled to debut this autumn, but Apple ultimately chose to wait until 2023. The Mac Studio, the much-anticipated Mac Pro update, and MacBook Pro variants with 14- and 16-inch screens might all be arriving soon.

Users could be able to add more memory than the current 64GB option since the M2 Max processor, which should power some of the future Mac Pro models, has a 12-core CPU running at 3.54GHz and up to 96GB of RAM. The Apple M2-Max CPU scored 13855 on the multi-core test and 1853 on the single-core test, per a Geekbench listing.
