As the Galaxy Z Flip6, the popular Galaxy Z Flip is coming back. The potent pocket-sized smartphone is more adaptable than ever because of six generations of foldable innovation. Its elegant form and extensive Galaxy AI capabilities allow it to provide a mobile experience that prioritizes the user’s creativity.

This adaptability is the result of superior technology and a well-considered design that takes consumers’ requirements and lives into account. To get a closer look at every part of the Galaxy Z Flip6, Samsung Newsroom disassembled the device.

1. Main Display

Users are greeted with an unmatched visual quality on a Dynamic AMOLED screen as they unfold the gadget. Images, movies, games, and other materials are vividly detailed. When the gadget is unfurled, the main display needs to be able to withstand external shocks and return to its former shape. The Galaxy Z Flip6 has improved functionality thanks to new materials and design principles that provide flexibility and durability.

Notably, the crease along the folded area is much less pronounced in the Galaxy Z Flip6 compared to earlier models. Besides being stacked with protective film and a more flexible protective layer, the Galaxy Z Flip6’s main display also boasts a more resilient Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) — having increased in thickness by 60%. In addition, high-efficiency organic materials and a new coating technique on the panel with lower reflectivity maximize usage time and make the screen easier to see when outside with a peak brightness that has been boosted from 1,750 to 2,600nits.

2. Hinge

The Galaxy Z Flip6’s svelte form and seamless folding experience are the result of Samsung’s excellent in-house hinge technology. Four drive shafts fold the display into the shape of a droplet of water when the device is folded, maintaining the two displays together for a smooth fit. External shocks are distributed evenly by the symmetric dual-rail structure of the integrated hinge module. The gadget may be utilized in both fully folded and unfolded configurations, as well as at different angles between 75 and 115 degrees. Without a phone stand or tripod, users may use FlexMode to prop up their phones at any angle to watch films or snap pictures.

3. Hinge Cover and Case

Because the hinge cover and case of the Galaxy Z Flip are composed of enhanced armor aluminum, they are more resilient to dents and scratches. An improved anodizing coating technique produces opulent colors that enhance the foldable’s beauty, and the device’s use of recyclable materials reflects the company’s environmental concerns.

4. Vapor Chamber

The Z Flip series’ first device with a vapor chamber is the Galaxy Z Flip6. To keep smartphones from overheating, vapor chambers disperse heat. The better a vapor chamber does at dissipating heat and preserving gadget stability, the bigger it is. In the foldable, Samsung was able to incorporate a sizable vapor chamber.

5. Main Battery

The Galaxy Z Flip6 comes with a 4,000mAh battery. By reducing the size of the protection board and optimizing internal space, Samsung was able to enhance battery capacity through the use of a molding process on the primary battery protection circuits.

6. Sub Battery

The sub-battery enhances the battery life of the Galaxy Z Flip6 even more, making it even more energy-dense than before.

7. Main PBA

The printed board assembly (PBA), which houses essential components including the processor and memory, is the brains of a smartphone. The Galaxy Z Flip6, which has a stacked main PBA with highly integrated elements, is the most compact iteration in the Galaxy Z Flip series.

8. Sub PBA

Placed on the speaker and charging terminal side, the sub PBA supports the globally standard USB Type-C connector in addition to multiple radio frequency bands. Additionally, a low-noise Micro Electro Mechanical System (MEMS) microphone is included, which helps with precise voice recognition.

9. Back Cover

When the Galaxy Z Flip6 is folded, the back cover forms the front and rear sides. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, a world leader in glass research and a dependable partner of Samsung, is integrated into it.
