The ROG Phone 7 and ROG Phone 7 Ultimate are the Asus company’s newest, most powerful gaming phones, composition. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, along with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X (8533Hz) Memory and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage, form the basis of both devices.
How, therefore, is the Ultimate superior to the Vanilla? It boasts the recognizable ROG Vision display on the rear and the AeroActive portal, which opens to let air straight into the built-in vapor chamber.
In its new flagships, Asus claims significant improvements to gaming performance. With a Boron Nitride layer, two graphite sheets with a total area of 16,000 mm2, a Rapid-cycle vapor Chamber, and the 15% efficiency boost that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 offers, the GameCool7 cooling system is larger and better.
ROG Phone 7, ROG Phone 7 Ultimate: Specs
You will receive consistent gaming performance that is unsurpassed by any other phone when all of it is integrated with Asus’ X Mode and the new AeroActive Cooler 7, both of which will be included in the Ultimate’s box. When the AeroActive Cooler 7 is attached, the Asus ROG Phone 7 Ultimate will open its AeroActive gateway for even more cooling benefits. These are the results from the Asus testing facility: even after an hour of heavy use, the phone hardly warms up.
In addition to that, the new AeroActive Cooler 7 boasts a built-in 5-magnet super linear subwoofer with a 13*38mm speaker, which when combined with the stereo speakers on the ROG Phone 7 produces 2.1 audio with more powerful bass. A 3.5mm headphone socket with Dirac tuning is included with the cooler, much like the phones do.
In addition to supporting motions like Dual Action, Push and Lift, and Gyroscope Aiming, the ROG Phone 7 set has recognizable AirTrigger ultrasonic shoulder controllers. For realistic haptic feedback for on-screen buttons and actions, the X-axis linear vibration motor creates vibration mapping.
Ray tracing is another feature that the ROG Phone 7 can enable in some games, giving you more realistic reflections on water and metal surfaces.
The 6.78-inch 2448x1080px AMOLED display on the ROG Phone 7 is built by Samsung and has a peak brightness of 1,500 nits, making it significantly brighter than its predecessor. The display can handle a touch sampling rate of 720Hz and a customizable refresh rate of up to 165Hz.
The 7 has a 6,000mAh battery, which is divided into two equal 3,000mAh portions to enhance cooling, and 65W charging, just like the previous generation of ROG Phones. The new chipset should also offer a welcome increase in durability.
Asus mostly maintained the same camera setup. It still has a 50MP IMX766 primary camera, a 13MP ultrawide camera, and a specialized 5MP macro camera on the rear. The 32MP OmniVision OV32C Quad-Bayer sensor in the front camera produces 8MP photos.
The Asus ROG Phone 7 weighs 239g and has dimensions of 173 x 77 x 10.4mm. Phantom Black and Storm White are available for the standard 7, whereas Storm White is the sole color available for the Ultimate. Both have splash resistance ratings of IP54.
Asus’ online shop and retail partners are now accepting pre-orders for the ROG Phone 7 in Europe and Taiwan. Although the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate costs €1,399 and comes with an AeroActive Cooler ($110, separately), the vanilla 7 costs €999 and does not.
