The Dimensity 9200+, Mediatek’s newest flagship chipset, will be unveiled on May 10, the company revealed today.
The new platform is probably only a little improvement over the standard 9200. In the Dimensity 9000 and 9000+, Mediatek previously took a similar approach: the most powerful CPU core and the GPU saw a little boost in frequency but the architecture, RAM, and process technology all stayed the same.
If so, the Dimensity 9200+, which has a Cortex-X3 unit, three Cortex-A715 cores, and four Cortex-A510 cores, will be constructed using the 4nm FinFET manufacturing process. Immortalis-G715 MC11 should continue to be the GPU.
On May 10, Realme is hosting a separate event, and it’s possible that the firm could tease a flagship device with the impending Dimensity 9200+. According to rumours, at least three phones—the X90S Pro, iQOO Neo8 Pro, and iQOO 11S—will have the Mediatek platform in vivo developed by a different company.
