Carl Pei’s Nothing is expected to introduce a different of earbuds in the not-too-distant future, and today Nothing Ear (2) has surfaced in what seem to be official models and come with a full list of specifications.
A number of renderings of Nothing Ear (2), the second generation of earphones from Pei’s business, were released by @OnLeaks with TheTechOutlook. Similar to renderings we saw in late January, the latest images show a set of earbuds that have almost exactly the same design as the original iteration.
What’s new this time around is a handful of images depicting the Ear (2) in use, most likely for the sake of marketing or Nothing’s own website.
More interesting is a list of specs for the earbuds, with Nothing Ear (2) unsurprisingly being similar to the originals, but with some notable improvements. The drivers are the same at 11.6mm, but the earbuds themselves are lighter. Each bud is 4.5g in weight, down from 4.7g on the prior model. ANC is also still supported.
Also appearing to be marginally improved is battery life. Although the earphones’ maximum operating time remains about six hours, the case’s overall operating time has increased to 36 hours from the original 34 hours.
Although the pricing of Nothing Ear (2) is unknown, it is probably going to cost the same $149 as the current model. On March 22, the earphones are expected to be on sale.
