In addition to positioning its ROG Phone line as the smartphone for die-hard gamers, Asus also frequently releases awesomely decorated special editions of its most recent gaming hardware.

Here, we have the Asus ROG Phone 6 Diablo Immortal Edition as a case in point. As you might have guessed, the phone is themed after the well-known Diablo Immortal video game by Blizzard. I am aware that the game is debatable. Fortunately, though, the look is undeniably Diablo, so we can just ignore this most recent instalment. Just by opening the package, I started to feel jittery and nostalgic.

The Diablo print is on top of the large box, and the symbols for the heroes are on the sides. But when we open the external packing, we discover that the phone is really housed in a box that is fashioned like the Soulstone (actually, it is the Worldstone). That’s a great touch, indeed!

The ROG Phone 6 Diablo Immortal Edition braided USB-C charging cable and 65 W fast charger are both wrapped in a fake leather scroll that features a map of Sanctuary (the human planet in Diablo), which enhances the overall look and feel of the box. Additionally, there is a UV lamp called Fahir’s Light Torch that, when shone on the aforementioned map, causes some regions to glow red.

Returning to the phone, the wording has been altered to match the special edition, and the rear has been entirely redesigned to include an aggressive red-on-black Diablo image (Asus calls it Hellfire Red finish).

Since the lighting logos on the rear are RGB, you may change their hue as desired. They could be breathing, strobing, or cycling through different colours. Naturally, we decided to continue with consistent red.

Of course, Diablo is the default theme when the game first starts. Though we can’t say we like the home screen wallpaper, we adore the lock screen. It has a little too much contrast and appears hastily put together.

Despite all of this, the internals of the ROG Phone 6 Diablo Immortal Edition is the same. It still features the extravagant 165 Hz AMOLED screen on the front and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. Everything is present, including the two USB connections for charging and accessories, the headphone jack, the incredible stereo speakers, and the ultrasonic shoulder triggers. Additionally, we noted in our review of the 6 Pro that its camera was also rather impressive.

Definitely lacking is an AeroActive Cooler 6 with a Diablo motif. As you are surely aware, the separately available attachment adds four physical buttons for improved gaming and does a superb job of keeping the phone cool. However, it’s currently only offered in white, which doesn’t exactly complement the We have a dark aesthetic going on.

The cost and availability of the ROG Phone 6 Diablo

On November 18, the Diablo Special Edition will be accessible via the Asus online store and a few chosen partners. Although the price is not yet known, it will be available tomorrow, so the wait won’t be too lengthy.
