As competition grows in the foldable category, Samsung must find a method to differentiate its offers and keep its market lead. According to a fresh rumour from the Vietnamese site The Pixel, Samsung is going to go all out for the Galaxy Z Fold 5.

Galaxy Z Fold 5 may include a new hinge design for a backgrounds screen

While other manufacturers were playing it safe, Samsung went all out with its foldable phones, garnering them not just a sizable market share but also a lot of know-how. Until recently, the company was hesitant to embrace the creaseless form that rivals preferred, worrying that it would not be favourable to long-term sustainability. The South Korean giant has Finally found out how to do this without damaging the device’s durability.

According to Pixel, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will not feature a crease. According to the Korean website Naver (via @GaryeonHan), Samsung has invented a novel waterdrop structure, internally known as a dumbbell hinge, that allows the main screen to descend into the phone’s body to prevent the creasing of the inside screen. The Fold 5 will also be able to fold fully flat thanks to its design. The Pixel states that the primary screen will remain 7.6 inches in size, with a resolution of 1768 x 2208.

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 will also have unfolded dimensions of 158.5 x 128.5 x 6.5mm, compared to the Fold 4’s 155.1 x 130.1 x 6.3 mm, making it somewhat higher and slightly narrower than its predecessor. It will measure 158.5 x 67.5 x 14.5 – 16mm when folded. The Fold 4, on the other hand, has folded dimensions of 155.1 x 67.1 x 14.2-15.8 mm.

the galaxy Z Fold 5 may have new primary and telephoto cameras

According to the rumour, the gadget will weigh 275 grammes, making it somewhat heavier than the 263-gram Galaxy Fold 4. The site previously ascribed the weight increase to camera components, and its most recent rumour claims that the phone would forego the 50MP main camera in favour of the 108MP camera found on the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Despite their high price tag, foldable phones are sometimes chastised for providing a subpar photography experience, and a flagship-worthy camera array can help Samsung catch the audience that avoids bending phones due to their cameras.

According to the source, the primary camera would be supported by a 64MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom and a 12MP ultrawide shooter.

The cameras in the Fold 4 were improved only last year, so take this with a grain of salt, though it does match with an earlier claim that said Samsung will equip the Galaxy Z Fold 5 with stronger cameras.

According to the source, the Fold 5 will contain space for the S Pen and the holster will be carefully built so that it is not significantly thicker than the Galaxy Z Fold 4.

Because the Pixel lacks a track record, it’s advised to approach this information with care. The report is still worth reading because the publisher is situated in Vietnam, where the majority of Samsung phones are produced. If these reports are accurate, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will undoubtedly be the greatest folding phone in 2023.
