Introducing Google Pixel Watch: Inside, we created our first watch

Introducing Google Pixel Watch Inside, we created our first watch

As part of our next Google product offering this autumn, we’re formally introducing Google Pixel Watch, our first full-featured premium wristwatch. The Google Pixel Watch is a natural extension of the Pixel family, combining the smarts and helpfulness you know and love from Google with Fitbit health and fitness expertise, all in a beautiful design.

A design that you may completely personalise

The Google Pixel Watch was designed with comfort and durability in mind. It is classy for a night out or a business meeting, can withstand your activities and workouts and is comfortable to sleep in. The dramatic, circular 3D domed glass elegantly integrates into the stainless steel body, giving it a thin appearance on the wrist. It is water-resistant (up to 5 ATM/50 metres) and scratch-resistant, making it suitable for use both during the day and at night.

The haptic crown, inspired by a traditional watch, regulates on-screen scrolling, opens shortcuts, and launches the app tray to bring you the information you need. The side button immediately above the crown launches your most frequently used applications, making it easy to access your favourites.

The innovative band attach mechanism, inspired by how a camera lens connects to a camera body, makes changing bands simple and allows you to modify the overall look of the watch. Change up your look with 20 band options, including traditional and modern bands in woven, stretch, active, and leather designs, with metal coming next spring.

And the extended family of 19 customisable watch faces, each with various customisation choices – from the colours to the layout and the most important information – provides hundreds of alternatives. With Google Photographs, you can even set your favourite photos as your watch face.

Google assistance is always available to you

Google Pixel Watch is powered by Google Wear OS (Wear OS 3.5) and gives the information you need at a glance, making tasks easier and offering assistance whenever and wherever you need it. The interaction is fluid, responsive, and simple. With tiles and watch faces that can be readily customised to be full of information or basic – the experience is completely customizable in terms of what you see at a glance.

With Google Assistant integrated, you can get tailored assistance on the road quickly and hands-free. You can easily control your smart home devices via the Google Home app, or you can just say “Hey, Google” to your watch to adjust the temperature, switch on or off lights, and so on. When a visitor or item arrives at your door, your Nest doorbell will notify you (with compatible smart devices).

Check current Gmail and Google Calendar alerts, use Google Wallet to make contactless payments in stores and on public transportation, and use Maps to obtain turn-by-turn instructions, including an interactive view that lets you see where you are and where you’re going. With YouTube Music Premium (three months included), you may browse over 100 million songs, cache your favourite playlists using abundant 32GB on-device storage, or stream phone-free through built-in 4G LTE-cellular. And with Google Play Store right on your wrist, you can access even more applications like Adidas Running, Calm, Spotify, MyFitnessPal, and Strava.

Fitbit’s health and fitness favourites

Google Pixel Watch works closely with Fitbit to bring cutting-edge health and fitness capabilities, including our most accurate heart rate tracking to date. It provides an accurate measurement of your heart rate continually tracking at once per second thanks to on-device machine learning and extensive optimization down to the processor level.

Fitbit’s experience for Google Pixel Watch has been fully overhauled, with 40 fitness modes available to monitor your favourite workouts and all-day activities such as steps, distance with built-in GPS, and Active Zone Minutes to help you push for that additional rep during workouts. It keeps track of your health with an ECG app that detects indicators of Atrial Fibrillation (AFib), helps you understand your sleep with Sleep Score and Sleep Stages, and provides suggestions based on Fitbit’s 20 billion nights recorded.

On the Fitbit app’s Health Parameters Dashboard, you can gain insights into crucial metrics such as your breathing rate, heart rate variability, and more. Fitbit Premium gives you greater insights and access to features such as Daily Readiness Score, which tells you when to go all-out in your workout or prioritise rest. There are over 1,000 workouts and 400 mindfulness sessions to help you take action and approach each day depending on what your body is telling you.
