New Radeon RX 7900 series GPUs from AMD with RDNA 3 architecture have been introduced. According to claims, the new Radeon RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT GPUs outperform previous generation hardware by 54%. It appears that AMD CEO Dr Lisa Su is making fun of Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 4090 when she claims that the firm is focused on providing great performance with optimal battery utilisation. Su said that RDNA 3 is the first chipset-based GPU in the world with a modular structure that can be readily modified in the future.
Specifications for the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT
The AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX features 96 compute units and 24GB of GDDR6 RAM, and it draws 355W of power while operating at up to 2.3GHz. The RX 7900 XT, on the other hand, has 20GB of GDDR6 RAM, 84 compute units, a 2GHz clock speed, and 300 W of power consumption.
According to claims made about the Radeon RX 7900 XTX, it can play Apex Legends in 4K at 295 frames per second and Valorant at up to 704 frames per second. Along with this, AMD asserts that the GPU runs Assassin’s Creed Valhalla at up to 96 frames per second with Fidelity FX Super Resolution.
Similar to the previous-generation GPU, the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT include larger fans and improved heatsink designs. According to AMD, the new cards contain a next-generation accelerator that provides 50% better performance in each compute unit for ray tracing.
The GPUs will give new dedicated instructions, improved ray box sorting, and 1.5 times more rays in flight. In addition to this, AMD’s new Radiance Display Engine, which enables 165Hz 8K and 480Hz 4K gaming, is a feature of the Radeon 7900 series GPUs.
Prices for AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT
The cost of the new AMD graphics cards has not yet been made public in India, although it has done so in the US. The pricing of the premium Radeon RX 7900 XTX is $999. (approximately Rs 82,376). The Radeon RX 7900 XT, meanwhile, costs $899. (approximately Rs 74,141). On December 13, both GPUs will be on sale, although it’s not certain if India will get them on the same day.
