Furthermore, for those who want outstanding professional performance, the Mac mini with M2 Pro is unlike any other desktop in its class.”

M2 and M2 Pro provide even more performance

M2 and M2 Pro introduce a faster next-generation CPU and GPU, substantially greater memory bandwidth, and a more powerful media engine to Mac mini, giving exceptional performance and industry-leading power efficiency. Both versions have a sophisticated heat system for long-term performance.

M2 for Mac mini

The Mac mini with M2 has an 8-core CPU with four high-performance and four high-efficiency cores, as well as a 10-core GPU, making it ideal for consumers seeking ultrafast speed and exceptional productivity at an even more cheap starting price of INR 59900. Everyday chores are lightning quick, from app startup and multitasking to web surfing. For those with more intensive jobs, the Mac mini with M2 can handle even more demanding workloads. Activities such as picture processing in Adobe Photoshop are up to 50% faster than the previous generation, thanks to up to 24GB of unified memory and 100GB/s of bandwidth.
M2 also provides ProRes acceleration to the Mac mini, allowing for faster video editing in Final Cut Pro. 1 The M2 model can also play up to two streams of 8K ProRes 422 video at 30 frames per second or up to 12 streams of 4K ProRes 422 video at 30 frames per second. With all of this power, the Mac mini is up to 5x quicker than the most popular Windows desktop, providing amazing value to first-time computer purchasers, upgraders, and PC switchers.
In comparison to the Mac mini with Intel Core i7, the Mac mini with M2 provides:

In comparison to the previous generation Mac mini with M1, the Mac mini with M2 provides:

  • Final Cut Pro can convert ProRes files up to 2.4 times quicker.
  • Adobe Photoshop filter and function performance are up to 50% quicker.
  • Resident Evil Village offers up to 35% quicker gameplay.

M2 Pro on a Mac mini

For the first time, M2 Pro offers pro-level performance to the Mac mini. M2 Pro offers 200GB/s of memory bandwidth — double that of M2 — and supports up to 32GB of memory. It contains up to a 12-core CPU with eight high-performance cores and four high-efficiency cores, as well as up to a 19-core GPU. The next-generation Neural Engine is 40% quicker than M1, accelerating machine learning activities like video analysis and image processing.
M2 Pro features a strong media engine that accelerates through the most common video codecs and can concurrently play up to five streams of 8K ProRes 422 video at 30 frames per second, or up to 23 streams of 4K ProRes 422 video at 30 frames per second.

In comparison to the 27-inch iMac with Intel Core i7 processor and Radeon Pro 5500 XT graphics, the Mac mini with M2 Pro provides:

  • Adobe Photoshop filter and function performance are up to 50% quicker.
  • Up to 5.5x faster panoramic merge in Adobe Lightroom Classic.
  • Up to 4.4x faster object tracking in Final Cut Pro
M2 Pro enables Mac mini users to conduct high-performance operations that were previously unthinkable in such a small form factor. Musicians can create music with extraordinarily powerful plug-ins and effects without skipping a beat, while photographers can instantly modify massive photos. Creators may work in Multicam with a variety of camera formats, including ProRes video, while gamers can play demanding games in console quality. Gaming performance is up to 15 times quicker than that of the fastest Intel-based Mac mini.

Enhanced Connectivity

The Mac mini continues to provide significant connection via a variety of connectors. The M2 variant comes with two Thunderbolt 4 connections and can accommodate up to two screens. The M2 Pro has four Thunderbolt 4 connections and can accommodate up to three screens. Furthermore, the M2 Pro variant can accommodate a single 8K display, a first for the Mac. Both variants have two USB-A connections, an HDMI connector, a Gigabit Ethernet port with a 10GB option, and a high-impedance headphone jack. Both new versions include the newest wireless communication standards, including Wi-Fi 6E for up to 2x faster throughput than previously and Bluetooth 5.3.

A Fantastic Desktop Experience Featuring Studio Display and Magic Accessories

When combined with Studio Display and Magic accessories, the Mac mini provides an exceptional desktop experience. With its large 27-inch 5K Retina display, 12MP Ultra Wide camera with Center Stage, studio-quality three-mic array, and six-speaker sound system with Spatial Audio, Studio Display completes the whole Mac desktop setup experience. Customers may customize their Mac mini and Studio Display with matching Magic accessories.

macOS Ventura

The Mac mini now has even greater speed and productivity thanks to macOS Ventura. Powerful improvements like Continuity Camera deliver videoconferencing capabilities like Desk View, Center Stage, Studio Light, and more to every Mac. FaceTime Handoff allows users to initiate a FaceTime call on Apple iPhone or iPad and seamlessly transfer it to their Mac, or vice versa. And utilities like Stage Manager automatically organize programs and windows, allowing users to focus on the work at hand while yet seeing everything at a glance.
Messages and Mail are better than ever, and Safari — the world’s fastest Mac browser — ushers in a password-free future with passkeys. Users can now build and share a distinct photo library among up to six family members with iCloud Shared Photo Library, and the new Freeform app provides a versatile canvas that lets users be more productive and expressive, whether they are planning or brainstorming on their own or with others. With Apple silicon’s strength and appeal, as well as new development tools like Metal 3, gaming on Mac has never been better.

Price of the M2 Pro Mac mini

The pricing is greater than the previous Intel model, which Apple maintained on the market for $1,099/£1,099. The new M2 Pro is priced at $1,299 (£1,399).

We expected a price hike over the four-year-old Intel model, which debuted in 2018. While it is somewhat more expensive than the ordinary M2 Mac mini (which retails for $599/£649 and $799/£849), it is still a reasonable value when compared to the similarly specced M2 Pro Macs sold by Apple:

  • M2 Pro on a Mac mini Chip with a 10-core CPU and a 16-core GPU, 512GB: $1,299/£1,399
  • MacBook Pro 14-inch with M2 Pro Chip: $1,999/£2,149 for 10-Core CPU and 16-Core GPU, 512GB
  • M1 Max on Mac Studio Chip: 10-Core CPU and 24-Core GPU, $1,999/£1,999
