one of its CPUs apparently being considered for inclusion in the next Galaxy S22 FE and Galaxy S23, MediaTek has used the opportunity to quietly announce the debut of its new Dimensity 1300 chipset, which improves on the Dimensity 1200. The Dimensity 1300 octa-core SoC is built on a 6nm technology and has a quad of Arm Cortex-A78 cores, including an Ultra Core with a 3GHz clock speed that enables super-fast frame rates, AV1 hardware decoding, and increased AI capabilities.
Four Arm Cortex-A55 efficiency cores, clocked at up to 2GHz, work alongside the A78 cores to handle lower-priority tasks and improve power efficiency. The visuals are handled by an Arm Mali G77 MC9 GPU, which supports resolutions of up to 2520 x 1080 and a refresh rate of up to 168Hz. There’s support for up to 16GB of LPDDR4x RAM running at up to 4266Mbps, as well as UFS 3.1 storage, and 5G connection, as you’d expect in 2022.
