The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, which Google recently unveiled on September 5th, are set to enter the Indian market the following week. When we gave an inside look at the Google Pixel 8 Pro in February, our predictions turned out to be right on.
Currently, the Google Pixel 8a 360° video produced in collaboration with OnLeaks shows the phone’s design from every aspect. Let’s discuss the Google Pixel 8a design in further detail:
Google Pixel 8a First look
The Pixel 8a does, as we can see from the renderings, differ slightly in appearance from its predecessor. The phone is somewhat smaller, less broad, and slimmer than the Pixel 7a, whose dimensions are 152.4 x 72.9 x 9.0mm, thanks to the retention of its most notable feature, the camera visor, and its proportions, which are 152.1 x 72.6 x 8.9mm.
A camera visor with two camera sensors can be seen on the Pixel 8a’s back panel. The front of the device features a Circa 6.1-inch flat screen with a hole-punch camera carved out towards the top of the display, relatively minimal side bezels, and a slight bottom chin.
The Pixel 8a will have a new body with rounded edges, similar to the Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel 8, moving from the boxy shape of its predecessor. This is one of the notable modifications that can be seen in the images.
The top of the display appears to have a 2.5D curved glass as well. On the bottom edge are the stereo speakers and USB Type-C connection, while on the top edge are what appear to be an earpiece and an ultra-wideband antenna. The right edge of the device has the power button, the volume rocker, and the Google logo on the rear. Finally, on the left side is where you’ll find the SIM tray. Cellular antenna bands may be seen around the phone’s top, left, and right borders.
What is currently known about the Pixel 8a?
A significant event occurred in August when a Google smartphone with the codename “Akita” appeared on the testing website Geekbench. This device is commonly thought to be the impending Google Pixel 8a. The Pixel 8a is equipped with a Mali-G715 GPU and an underclocked Tensor G3 chipset, according to the Geekbench listing. The smartphone is advertised as having 8GB of RAM and Android 14.
Performance-wise, the Pixel 8a scored 1,218 for single-core processing and 3,175 for multi-core processing. There is much speculation that Google may keep the same camera hardware but optimize it even more for the Pixel 8a.
