Samsung confirms Galaxy Z Flip5 in official video

On July 26, Samsung will unveil its newest set of foldable phones at its Galaxy Unpacked event. Also, the company is currently taking pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5 and is offering a $50 credit. But, prior to the official introduction, it began previewing the Galaxy Z Flip 5 on social media with brief videos, and one of these movies explicitly states that the Galaxy Z Flip5 has a no-gap hinge.

Rumors that Samsung might finally switch to a no-gap hinge for its upcoming foldable phones, as other Chinese smartphone companies did, first surfaced earlier this year. However, according to certain recent speculations, the Galaxy Z Flip5 and the Galaxy Z Fold5 still feature a tiny gap between their folding halves when the phones are folded. These rumors, however, proved to be untrue. Samsung teased the Galaxy Z Flip5 ability to fold entirely flat and without any gaps around the hinge with a brief teaser video that was shared on Instagram and Twitter.

The Galaxy Z Flip5 appears to feature flat sides, as you can see in the linked video. When fully folded, there doesn’t seem to be any gap, in contrast to earlier Galaxy Z series phones. The phone looks nicer and is more resistant to dust and other objects, which can sometimes harm the hinge.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 has received an extensive design overhaul. It has a 3.4-inch cover screen with a complete on-screen keyboard, more complex widgets, and mini-apps. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 engine, 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB or 256 GB of storage, a larger 12 MP primary camera with OIS, a 12 MP ultra-wide camera, a 10 MP selfie camera, and a 3,700 mAh battery with 25 W fast charging are all believed to be included. It may have dual speakers and an IPX7 water-resistant rating.

You may pre-reserve the Galaxy Z Flip5 or Galaxy Z Fold5 from Samsung.com and receive a $50 credit if you do so. This can be used to pay for accessories or remove your ultimate bill.
