Nokia's XR21 rugged phone

The MIL-STD-810H military-grade and IP69K certification of Nokia’s XR21 smartphone, the highest IP protection against water and dust, marks the company’s recent entry into the rugged smartphone market. The “9K” at the end really indicates that the Nokia XR21 can withstand close-range, high-pressure, and high-temperature spray-downs.

Gorilla Glass Victus Glass provides the display with some of the strongest Corning protection currently available. A 6.49-inch IPS LCD panel with FHD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate is mounted behind it. It also works with wet hands and gloves.

Nokia’s XR21 has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, the Snapdragon 695 SoC controls everything. 64MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture and an 8MP ultrawide camera on the rear. There is a selfie camera with 16MP and f/2.5 on the front.

The phone draws power from a 4,800 mAh battery that supports 33W charging, but unfortunately, the XR21 ships with Android 12 out of the box. The good news is that Nokia promises 4 years of monthly security updates and 3 major Android OS upgrades.
