Rumored iPhone 14 Plus Name Likely Is Actually Standard 6.7-Inch Model

At its September 7 event, Apple is slated to unveil four new iPhone 14 models, including a conventional 6.7-inch variant that has been called the iPhone 14 Max in speculations. The devices could, in fact, wind up with a different name.

The new 6.7-inch model may really be called the iPhone 14 Plus, according to a picture of what seems to be an Apple iPhone cover posted by Twitter user Tommy Boi As an end, the range would comprise the 6.1-inch iPhone 14, 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Plus, 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro, and 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Obviously, a picture like this might be altered, but even if the leak is false, the Name iPhone 14 Plus is still a possibility. The name iPhone 14 Plus might be used to set the smartphone apart from the iPhone 14 Pro Max and highlight that while having a 6.7-inch display, it is not a model with the highest possible feature levels.

Apple last branded the iPhone 8 Plus with the “Plus” codename in 2017. Since then, Apple has designated their biggest iPhones with the “Max” label. Examples include the iPhone XS Max, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 12 Pro Max, and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

A case can still be made for the iPhone 14 Max codename since it would be consistent for Apple to offer the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max with the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The names Apple unveils during its event in only seven days will ultimately have to wait.
